Stan was
Gus's assistant and foil for many of the stories. At first he was a
"grease monkey" doing any number of cleaning chores. He minded the
pumps at the Model Garage and was either announcing the entrance of a new
problem or trying to emulate his boss's ease of fixing a tough problem.
Stan never really aged but Gus didn't either so everything seemed to work
out all right in the end.
