Encore

For many years I had thought that the last entry in the Model Garage series was June of 1969 and probably my interest in Popular Science had dipped at the time.  I was surprised to hear that Gus did come back, albeit briefly in December of 1970.  The shop was the same but things had changed a bit.  Reading that last story was a great gift after all was "said and done."  I sometimes wonder how Gus would fit in to the environment of emission controls, trouble codes, and micro-processors.  Maybe that's why the series was fun.  Gus could figure things out based on experience, logic, and brain power.  That combined with hard work and honesty is always refreshing.

Thanks for stopping by.
